To disassemble a Glock pistol, you must safely unload it and remove the slide and barrel. First, you must point the gun in the safety and release the magazine. Open and close the slide so you can check the chamber for remaining bullets. Next, you must close the slide and fire once in the safe to release the firing pin. Then, open the slide a little and pull out the sides of the slide lock. When the lock is in place, you can push the slide forward to separate it from the gun. You will also have to push the spring out of the gun and out the barrel. Once these parts of the gun are removed, you can clean your Glock before reloading. Always wear sunglasses when handling your firearm in an emergency. For tips on how to put the slide back on when reloading your gun, read on! Like all machines, the pistol also needs maintenance.
